Community Centre Herstedlund – the architectural equivalent of a Swiss army knife. Sustainable solar panels: check. Multipurpose area: check. Skateboard ramp: check. Kitchen: check. Performance space: check. Climbing wall: check. Created as a hub for a new residential area, the building is a local user-driven house of culture, where people of all ages with all manner of personal interests are welcome to use the building simultaneously.
Read more ↓Community Centre Herstedlund is a user-driven facility for approximately 600 local families, offering unprogrammed spaces with the possibility for a coexistence of multiple events.
The house is designed as a robust building with a minimum number of mobile or delicate parts. The facade is a combination of whole and perforated aluminium plates and wire mesh.
