The tiny town of Jørlunde has been around since before the year 1000. The name actually translates – in old Nordic tongue – to "the groves with wild boars". In this rather historic scenario, one may stumble across a very modern looking summer house, reminiscent more of Japanese architecture than of Viking settlements.
Read more ↓Raised above the ground on concrete pillars, the summer house extends over sloping terrain. The interior spaces and terraces are filtered from the outer landscape by movable fabric screens stretching along the perimeter.
This free composition allows the house to open up as well as close itself off – yet always sustain a sense of tranquillity within and a connection to nature.
