A lot has been written about the so-called “competent child”. With the day care centre in Skanderborggade/Krausesgade, something has actually been built for competent children! The centre is comprised of two plates connected by a large, red sloping ramp – ideal for climbing and playing, falling down and climbing right back up again!
Read more ↓The building’s design is restricted by planning and regulations as well as by the desire for maximum consistency between the outdoor areas on the terrain and on the roof. Slope inclination allows play on the sloping surface up toward the actual playground. The layout also optimally utilizes solar orientation on the site.
Two other courtyards are cut into the roof, ensuring air and daylight to all levels, offering varied outdoor spaces for different activities.
